Mud Bog

MUDD’N

The Mud Bog Racing offers participants a chance to test their vehicle in our pit that is filled with some of the nastiest mud you’ll ever see. This is a head to head matchup where two vehicles enter the bog and race towards the finish line. Competitors will make a timed pass in each lane with the winner having the lowest combined time per class. There are 6 Classes for the Mud Bogs, please refer to the rulebook for information per class.

If you would like to enter your truck into the Mud Bogs races, you MUST sign up and pay your class tech fee at the time of your initial registration to the show.

Rules


  • Class 1 – 33” and smaller DOT tire (No power adders, no trans brake, must have OEM drivetrain, stock frame and current registration)

    Class 2 – 35” and smaller DOT tire (up to 39.5” – Bloomsburg only)

    Class 3 – 40” and smaller DOT tire (up to 44” – Bloomsburg only)

    Class 4 – 54” and smaller DOT tire

    Class 5 – Open Unlimited (Cuts, Scoops, Power Adders)

    Class 6 – Mega Truck (military, industrial or 2.5 ton or larger axles, AG and V-Tread tires)

    Mud Bog Class Requirements

    1. Fire extinguisher required in all classes, within drivers reach.
    2. Minimum of 2 throttle return springs.
    3. All competitors must wear a helmet and seatbelt. Both must be worn from pre stage, through the pit and back to staging.
    4. Trucks may run alcohol (methanol) but must be declared at tech.
    5. Toolboxes, roll bars/cages and spare tires must be fastened down. No loose objects in the back of the vehicle or in the driver’s compartment. Truck beds must be free of trash and any loose objects.
    6. All classes must have either a hard top or roll bar. Hoods may be cut for the carburetor. Open exposed engines must have a cover or shroud over belts and fan.
    7. All trucks must have a minimum of 3-point harness.
    8. All trucks must have an adequate hook front and back for pull out. ¼” mounts with ⅜” bolts minimum. Tech will have final say in the matter. No straps allowed for pull out.
    9. No track vehicles, chains, tires or wheels with extensions added on for traction. Only stock dual rear wheels allowed.
    10. The tire diameter will be measured by declared DOT size.
    11. During a run if a truck goes out of bounds it will be considered a DQ.
    12. The drivers’ meeting will be conducted at tech 45 minutes before each class, all drivers must attend.
    13. Any racer being found to consume alcohol or drugs before competition will be DQ’ed and no refund given.
    14. No alcoholic beverages will be allowed in the competition area for anyone or any reason.
    15. Eye protection will be required for racers in a vehicle without a full windshield.
    16. All racers must be at least 18 years of age.
    17. All coolant lines, fuel line, belts and hoses must be free of holes and in good condition.
    18. Kill switch must be marked and able to kill the engine and fuel pump. Stock ignition will suffice.
    19. Batteries must be safely secured. No bungee cords or ratchet straps.
    20. All trucks must be teched and meet the rules for the class in which it will compete.
    21. All trucks must have an adequate and functional brake system.
    22. One tech inspection per class entry.
      • A. The tires mounted on the truck during tech must be the tires you run in competition.
      • B. If your truck does not pass tech, you will be instructed on the changes to make. You must go back through tech before tech closes.
      • C. Racers must have all their safety equipment when going through tech.
    23. Timing and Scoring
      • A. Each competition will have at least one pass through the pit.
      • B. The quickest time through the pit or distance will determine the finish.

    Class 1:

    • A fire extinguisher is required to be within drivers reach.
    • 33” and under DOT tires
    • No transbrake or power adders
    • Must have OEM drive train.
    • Stock chassis.
    • Must be 4-wheel drive.
    • Must be plated.

    Class 2-4:

    • A fire extinguisher is required to be within drivers reach.
    • No power adders
    • Modified or tube chassis okay.
    • Must be 4-wheel drive.
    • See above for tire size limits/class.
    • Suspension mods allowed.

    Class 5:

    • A fire extinguisher is required to be within drivers reach.
    • Cuts and Scoops allowed.
    • Methanol allowed.
    • Power adders allowed.
    • Drive shaft loops required.
    • Must have adequate roll bar and cage if open cab.
    • Automatic transmission must have stock floor pan or approved blanket/shield separating driver from transmission.

    Class 6:

    • A fire extinguisher is required to be within drivers reach.
    • Industrial/Military 2.5 ton plus axles.
    • Tractor/V Tread tires.
    • Methanol allowed.
    • Automatic transmission must have stock floor pan or approved blanket/shield separating driver from transmission.
    • Must have adequate roll bar and cage if open cab.
    • Power adders allowed.
    • Drive shaft loops required.
